Although a lot of people in the blogs have wrote that Cindy McCain was judged as a privileged person who was not reprimanded with the right consequences for her actions, I tend to disagree. She is human, just like the rest of us and just because she is in the spotlight of the media, she has more pressures than most, doesn't mean she can't make mistakes as well. As far as not having to pay for her consequences, it said in the article that she did community service, took drug classes for addiction, and paid a fine. I don't know about you but that sounds like a punishment. I feel as though just because she was viewed as a "trophy wife" she was not taking seriously with her action abroad. She has funded many charities with the money she has earned through her parents business, who she became a part of. Instead of focusing on the good Cindy has done and continues to do, the media and many people focus on what she as "the possible future first lady" has done wrong. This happens more often then we think, turn on your local news station and watch it for 20 min. All you will hear and see is the negative things happen within our country and around the world, because although it is said to say the negative and "bad" things in our society is what sells. So therefore, we are the ones contributing to it but the people who its affecting the most are the ones being written about, Cindy McCain.
The more I read about Mrs. McCain the more I was inclined to see her as a first lady. I don't know about the rest of the people who live and are involved in this election but I would like to see a mother who has gone out of her way to help others and seems very caring. Even though I am making the assumption that she is this way without ever having meet her. But I feel I have read enough about her to believe that she is sincere and also believe that her husband has the same attributes as well.
Touching on the subject that another student stated, her first encounter with Mr. McCain was in fact when he was separated. Although some believe that because he was officially divorced it is considered adulteress. I believe that when two people are separated and have moved on with their own lives that it is alright to date. Having seen how a divorce works myself, it is very hard to sit back while the divorce process goes through, because of the long process that the two individuals have no control over. Therefore dating while"separated" isn't not adulteress in any way. Also Mr. McCain's ex had nothing but good things to say about him as a person which coming from an ex-wife is very uncommon.
Overall I thought this article was surprisingly interesting and informative considering I did not have any clue about our possible first lady.

They always say, "this is the most important blah blah of our time."
Well maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. But this team of Drexel University students will get into it summer of 2008 (while we're not at the beach, or soaking up the free AC at the library)...
Get into IT.
Into the nooks and crannies, the issues the media has forgotten because a cat got stuck in a tree, or a congressman was caught with his pants down.
Issues not invective.
