Choose 08...intro...

They always say, "this is the most important blah blah of our time."

Well maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. But this team of Drexel University students will get into it summer of 2008 (while we're not at the beach, or soaking up the free AC at the library)...

Get into IT.

Into the nooks and crannies, the issues the media has forgotten because a cat got stuck in a tree, or a congressman was caught with his pants down.

Issues not invective.

In Search of Cindy McCain

I agree with everyone who has posted already saying this article persuades people to view Cindy McCain in a certain light; however I feel like the purpose of exposing the women behind the politicians is to help them come off as a relatable everyday person, yet this article does the complete opposite. Somehow in our society, coming from a wholesome family verse a broken home family can usually make candidates more ideal. John on the other hand has had two marriages, Cindy obviously being the second wife. None the less how do all the family oriented details correspond with the type of leader someone can be? I do believe that their family and history should be part of the public eye and available but I believe people look in unnecessary places in order to find excuses for why they are voting for who they are, instead of researching on issues pertaining to the election.

For instance I believe when people read this article about Cindy McCain and are compelled to vote for her husband for the things she endured and preserved through is ridiculous, how does that reflect on how good of a president John McCain can be? Sure, she has been through three miscarriages, a stroke, sending her child off to war, adopting a baby with severe cleft palate, and a drug addiction, but where was her husband in all this (you know the person who actually might be running the country). Oh right, he was in Washington shining up his affiliations and credentials to help him with his future campaigns. He was away from his family during times when his family needed him most concentrating on his career, and people will probably view him as a workaholic insensitive husband, but will sympathize for the struggle Cindy went through. Honestly though who would you rather see in office, a man who puts the job first or a devoted husband and father?
