Choose 08...intro...
They always say, "this is the most important blah blah of our time."
Well maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. But this team of Drexel University students will get into it summer of 2008 (while we're not at the beach, or soaking up the free AC at the library)...
Get into IT.
Into the nooks and crannies, the issues the media has forgotten because a cat got stuck in a tree, or a congressman was caught with his pants down.
Issues not invective.

Oil Wars- movie pitch
Its 2011, President McCain has implemented domestic drilling due to foreign oil no longer being available to the United States. All throughout the country people are drilling anywhere possible. Out in Texas, John begins to drill in hopes of becoming the next Jed Clampett. After days of trying, suddenly he strikes, he has found oil! Screaming with excitement the neighbors come out to see what the big fuss is. Immediately they rush to try and get some of John’s oil. They call friends and family to come quick, “we have found oil!” John becomes enraged, this is his oil and no one is going to take it without paying a price. John begins to fight off the others, a large fight brakes out and before you know it, the small Texas town is complete chaos. Thousands of miles away the same incident breaks out in rural Pennsylvania, in Alaska, in Wisconsin, and eventually all throughout the United States. Fights turn in to riots and riots turn into civil war. No place is safe, friends become enemies, and it’s every man for himself. The fate of the United States depends on the actions of a hero. One who must stop the violence, reunite the country, and find a way to provide oil to all (that’s cheap, of course).

I think that your movie pitch is a great option for a movie due to the fact that all of America is experiencing this “horror” every day, as gas prices steadily increase. As we experience gas problems daily, it is not hard to imagine the war that you described breaking out in America. The basis of your movie, unlike many other horror movies, is something that we can all relate to. It is funny to think that although your horror movie pitch does not include the typical monsters or ghosts that a regular horror movie consists of, your movie sounds even scarier than the former mentioned because it is so realistic and unfortunately, possible.
